Redistribution of Manitoba's provincial electoral boundaries is a very important
consultative process.
Following the release of proposed boundaries in June of 2008, the commission accepted
comments and proposals in writing from the public. Public hearings were also scheduled
in locations throughout Manitoba in September of 2008. In total, over 260 individuals
commented on the proposed boundaries. Those comments came in the form of 56 oral
presentations and 44 written submissions, three of which were submitted in a petition-like
fashion with signatures from 202 people.
The commission considered this feedback to be of great importance and an essential
component in the preparation of the final report and wishes to
extend sincere thanks to all those who participated.
